Favored Photos: Matt’s Top 20

December 10, 2010

Matt

I scanned through my photos from this year at the farm, and gathered up my top 20. Originally, my plan was to pick the top 10, but I failed miserably.

I chose these images, not just based on aesthetic appeal, but also because they capture some fine moments, and important events that marked the year (e.g., snowstorms).

Frost has not stopped all garden activity

It’s been about a week since our first major frost of autumn, marking the end of most, but not all, activity in the garden.  The frost was pretty late, I think, even for as far south as we are—so we counted ourselves lucky.

Summer Pics

August 24, 2010

Tina Taylor‘s summer pics are back!  I picked out some of the best ones of Lucy and scenery (since Matt already covered all of the produce bases with his last photo post). There is also one picture of the new chickens.

Tina came on quite a busy day.  It was the same day as Lucy’s dedication at church, it was blazingly hot and Caleb’s family was in town visiting.  Some of these things are reflected in the pictures (perhaps most notably, Lucy’s exhaustion).  Check out the Summer 2010 album here.

Chicken Drama: Part 2 — the vacation home

Matt

In my last post, I noted how we were introducing three new chickens into the coop. Our lone remaining chicken from the original four was given them a hard time, chasing and pecking at them. After three days of this nonsense (and three days of the smallest chickens burrowing under the coop into the “basement”), we decided to separate the big one from the others. (more…)

Spring Photos

May 7, 2010

Kristin

Tina Taylor took a great series of spring photos a few weeks ago.  We’re still uploading some of her photos, but you can see the majority of them here.   We’re sorry to lose her back to North Carolina, but we’re excited to see her up here again in July and October.  We also got to meet her funny, beautiful and precocious daughter, Ansleigh.  What a delight! Finally, we used some of her photos to update a few other albums including Moments with Lucy and Broccoli.  Check them out!
